If your ticket has this logo start to worry!
Mexicana Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection in August 2010 and late last week announced that they would be grounding all flights indefinitely. If you purchased airfare with them, chances are you have just taken a major hit unless you purchased travel insurance.
If you used a travel agent, call them up and see what they can do to help. Sometimes other airlines honor defunct tickets to gain market share. If your reservation was with an online broker such as Orbitz, Expedia, or a similar company, see what they can do for you.
No matter what you do, make sure to contact your credit card company and see what they can do for you. Mileage cards usually carry some form of insurance for travel expenses. Non-mileage cards may be a huge case-by-case basis.
Good luck! We have eliminated Mexicana from our database!
From their website
"Financial deterioration and lack of agreements force Grupo Mexicana to stop flying.
Grupo Mexicana deeply regrets all inconveniences caused to its passengers."
